GROWTHWORK

Clarity

Clear seeing is critical for our wellbeing and performance. Training our capacity to pause and bring awareness to our inner experience helps us see and navigate our emotional lives with greater clarity and transform our emotions into a source of useful information that we can use to make skillful choices in the midst of challenges.

In this session, we explore tools to build our EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (EQ). We look at the science and psychology of emotions, practice tuning into our emotional states, observe the layers of our emotions with curiosity, and use this information in positive ways to "unhook" ourselves and make decisions that relieve stress and build resilience.

As we develop greater awareness of our internal emotional landscape, we are able to respond to challenges with greater response flexibility and contribute to a work environment – and life – that is less reactive and far more compassionate.

How We Get Hooked and How We Get Unhooked

Pema Chödrön explores the Tibetan Buddhist concept of shenpa, the sticky feeling that pulls us into reactive patterns of thought and behavior. With clarity and compassion, she offers tools to recognize the moment we get “hooked” and gently shift toward freedom, presence, and wise choice—an essential teaching for anyone navigating stress, anxiety, or habitual reactivity.
